"Americana: Sea to Shining Sea"

The award-winning Kansas City Singers will present "Americana: Sea to Shining Sea," at 8 p.m. May 27 and 28 and at 2 p.m. May 29.
A Gala Grand Opening will be held on the May 27 featuring a silent auction benefit for Friends of the Kaw, a local environmental group and sponsor of the Kansas Riverkeeper. All performances will be accompanied by an Art Exhibit of "Nature's Light Photography."
"Americana: Sea to Shining Sea" is the final concert in the Kansas City Singers' Americana Series. It is filled with music and stories about the American land and is suitable family entertainment.
Performances will be held at Just Off Broadway Theater, 3051 Central, Kansas City, Mo. Tickets for May 28 and 29 are $18 at the door or $15 in advance. Advance tickets can be ordered online at KCSingers.org. Call (816) 361-0431 for information.
The Gala Grand Opening begins at 7 p.m. with the silent auction and complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $35, which includes a $20 charitable tax-deduction. Black tie is optional. Reservations are required.
The Kansas City Singers is a professional chorus that performs contemporary arrangements of classical, folk and Americana music. They are International Gold Cup winners of the 2004 "Concorso Internazionale Di Canto Corale" in Verona, Italy.
