Lansing residents can take advantage of the free spring clean-up at the Leavenworth County Transfer Station, east on Gilman Road, on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24.
Items can be dropped at the transfer station free of charge with a valid driver's license.
Items that will be accepted include: standard waste, residential tire disposal, household hazardous materials such as paint, anti-freeze, pesticides and household cleaning products, yard waste of grass and leaves, tree and brush, white goods including appliances and any metal items, residential recycling and construction and demolition waste.
Motor oil will not be accepted.
Those wishing to dispose of burn barrels must place all barrel residue in plastic bags and water down the contents and then place them in a cardboard box.
Electronics may be dropped off and will be recycled through an e-waste program.
If you are elderly or physically unable to travel to the Leavenworth County
Transfer Station, call Lansing City Hall at 727-3036 by Friday, April 16 to have your items picked up on Friday, April 23.
