Leavenworth County Humane Society will have its 11th spay/neuter transport from June 17 and June 18 at the Lansing Parks and Recreation Activity Center, 108 S. Second St. The LCHS program partnership with No More Homeless Pets, Kansas City has spayed/neutered and vaccinated 257 dogs and cats throughout Leavenworth County so far, preventing more than 1,540 puppies and kittens needing homes. Cats must weigh 2 pounds to participate (about 12-14 weeks), and dogs must be at least 8 weeks of age. Feral cats are welcome. Packages include spay/neuter, vaccinations, parasite treatment and an ear-tip to identify the cat as sterilized. Packages for cats start at $55. Package prices for dogs are based on weight, starting at $82. Additional services — such as microchip, nail trim, de-worm — are available also for a small additional fee. E-mail LvnCoHS@live.com for details and to register, or call (913) 728-2881 and leave a message.
