Friends of the Kaw's Tenth Annual Dinner and Silent Auction

The Tenth Annual Dinner and Silent Auction is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the Lake Quivira Country Club at 100 Cresent Blvd., Lake Quivira. Glenn Fell, a native plant naturalist, will talk about the prairie and the history of the Kaw Indians and their relationship to the Kaw River. Attendees may choose from two dinner entrees: Hardwood Grilled Salmon with Apple Bacon Compote or Apple and Bacon Braised Semi Boneless Chicken with Pan Sauce. Both dinners include Fontina Potatoes, Braised Greens with Aromatic Vegetables and Mushrooms, tea or coffee, and Cherry Cobbler. There will be a cash bar. The suggested donation is $50 per person and reservations must be made by Monday, Nov. 8 by calling 866-RIV-KEEP or at http://kansasriver.org
