New Immigrants and the American Dream: Spotlight on China
With the recent unveiling of the New Immigrants and the American Dream exhibit at the Johnson County Museum, visitors learn about how immigration law has affected immigrants and how they pursue the American Dream in suburban communities across the United States. Immigration is changing the face of the suburbs in interesting ways. New Immigrants and the American Dream: Spotlight on China is a family program set for Saturday, September 10, 2011, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Museum. CJ Wei, a native of Bejing, China, and now Kansas City Chinese American Association President, will speak about his native country of China. Members of the public are invited to learn about another culture by enjoying Chinese stories, music, food, and entertainment. Admission is free.
