Unique pieces of history are in the details at the eccentric Bahm home at Lake of the Forest, 509 East Hill Road. On the market for the first time since its construction, visitors are welcome to take a peek at the home, in which the original owner incorporated various items from the buildings located at historic Kansas City River Market Area. The cobble stone circular driveway was built from stone that was salvaged from New Orleans seawall, stained glass windows are from various Kansas City churches, the two-story atrium in the middle of house features lights from Union Station, and the marble fireplace and tin ceiling in the dining room also were taken from Kansas City buildings. The
open house runs from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
