The Foreigner takes place at a fishing lodge. A British officer
comes to the lodge on assignment. He has a friend called Charlie.
Froggy is called away, leaving Charlie to his own devices. The play
centers on Charlie, a shy and unobtrusive Englishman overcome by
panic at the thought of talking with strangers. His friend tells
everyone that he is unable to understand or speak English. He hears

threatening to the characters.
