Funeral services for Marvin Throop, Tonganoxie, were Oct. 20, 2000, at the Quisenberry Chapel, Tonganoxie.
He was 93 years old.
Burial was at Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
Mr. Throop was born Sept. 22, 1907, in Jarbalo, the son of Ray and Mae Throop.
He was a retired tool and dye maker and worked at the B.O.P. plant (General Motors) during World War II.
In later years, Mr. Throop worked for the Bensen Co. in Kansas City, Kan.
He was married to Jewel Marie Bane on July 7, 1928. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include, one son, James M. Throop, Elizabeth, Colo.; four grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Helen A. McKowan
Graveside services for Helen A. McKowan, 94, Lenexa, were Oct. 19, 2000 at Old Mission Cemetery, Wichita.
Mrs. McKowan died Oct. 16 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park.
She was born May 12, 1906, in Lamont, Okla., and had previously lived in the Wichita area for more than 50 years. She moved to the Kansas City area in 1992.
Mrs. McKowan was a member of the Wichita First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 433, Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, J. Glenn McKowan. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lu Whitney, Bonner Springs; two granddaughters, Karen Collins, Fenton, Mo. and Debi Klein, Overland Park; three great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
