Cats back on track

The Basehor-Linwood soccer team capped a busy week with a win Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Piper High School. The Bobcats, now 4-5-1, defeated the Pirates 2-1 thanks to a surge at the end of the first half.
BLHS ripped by Mill Valley, 27-0

On Basehor-Linwood’s first play from scrimmage against Mill Valley, Nick Verbenec hit Jake Brown on a pass play across the middle for a 19-yard gain. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, that was about as good as things got on Friday, Sept. 28, as they were buried, 27-0 at Mill Valley. “We got our butts kicked,” coach Paul Brown said. “They (MVHS) did a great job of executing and they kept our defense on the field for most of the game.”

Commission approves housing developments

House shopping in the city of Basehor keeps getting easier. During its meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 2, the Basehor Planning Commission unanimously approved phases of three separate developments that will account for 79 new homes in the city.

Apparently Senior Night does mean a little more than most people think. At least that’s what it looked like Tuesday, Oct. 2, when Basehor-Linwood High School’s five senior volleyball players threw all of their heart and soul onto the court to make sure that they won their final game in the BLHS gym.
