Seasons changing in high school sports world
The Basehor-Linwood High School football team's loss in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday, Oct. 30, marked the end of the fall sports season at both area high schools.
At both BLHS and Bonner Springs High School, cross country, football, soccer, tennis and volleyball are now all finished.
The Bobcat football team was the most successful at its school, although the volleyball team made it to the second round of sub-state, and a single cross country runner, Steve Lutjen, was the most successful finisher at BSHS, as he finished 16th at the state meet. The Braves' football team also finished the year strongly, with a 6-3 record.
Now both schools are waiting for winter sports, which include wrestling, and boys and girls basketball. Practice for these sports kicks off on Monday, Nov. 12.
