Braves awaiting word from Kaw Valley League on admittance
Bonner Springs High School has still not heard whether it will become the newest member of the Kaw Valley League and according to KVL president Al Ferrell, principal at Perry-Lecompton High School, the Braves will have to wait until Wednesday, Sept. 19, for the official word.
Originally, the final vote was supposed to be cast on Sept. 12, but Ferrell said a few of the schools had conflicts that did not allow them to completely and fairly analyze the situation. In an effort to ensure that the vote is fair, Ferrell and the KVL decided to postpone the vote until its next meeting on Sept. 19. Ferrell did say, however, that BSHS will know its fate for sure on that date.
"We're going to put it to rest one way or the other on the 19th," Ferrell said. "Right now, I have no idea what's going to happen."
In order to become the league's 10th member, all nine current members would have to vote to accept Bonner Springs into the league.
This is the second straight year that the Braves have applied for entry into the KVL and last year they were denied by just one vote.
