Obit: Sidney W. Peacocke

Services for Sidney Peacocke, 66, Shawnee, were Sept. 11, at the Monticello United Methodist Church. Burial was in Bonner Springs Cemetery, Bonner Springs.

Mr. Peacocke died Friday, Sept. 7, at his home.

Sidney was born Aug. 17, 1935, in Glasgow, Mo. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. He was an Actuary for B.M.A. for 40 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Kansas City Actuarial Club, and was an alumnus of Central Methodist College at Fayette, Mo. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa, receiving a Masters Degree in Actuarial Services. Sidney was a volunteer driver for Cancer Action and Powell Gardens. He was a member of DeMolay and the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. C.S. Peacocke; his brother, Dr. Ivan Lee Peacocke; and his father-in-law, Art Woolf.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Peacocke, Shawnee; one son, David Peacocke, Topeka; one sister, Nancie Fadeley, Eugene, Ore.; and one grandson, Ryan Peacocke, Topeka.

The family suggests memorials to Cancer Action of Wyandotte County or Powell Gardens, c/o Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak, Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
