The writings were so good in the Basehor Veterans of Foreign Wars essay contest that it took three sessions to determine the winners. “We thought they were all real good,” Basehor VFW Post 11499 Commander Bob Wiley said. “They were all their own work and we were all impressed. We spent a lot of time judging them because it was hard to decide.”
