Opinion: Garry Dean Owens
Memorial Services for Mr. Garry Dean Owens were Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Holman-Howe Chapel, Hartville, Mo.
Mr. Owens, 43, died Friday, Oct. 25, in his home.
Mr. Owens was born Oct. 6, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo. He served in the United States Army and attended Paratrooper School at Fort Bragg, N.C. After his honorable discharge, Mr. Owens came back to the Kansas City area where he met his wife. Mr. Owens attended the American Motorcycle Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla. Most recently, Mr. Owens was a cook for Victory Junction Restaurant.
Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
Mrs. Owens is survived by his wife, Erin, of the home; a daughter, Lauren, of the home; a stepson, J.T. Adkins, of the home; two brothers, Larry A. Owens and his wife, Jackie, Berthoud, Colo.; Ronald G. Owens and his wife, Jennifer, Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Joyce Whitaker and her husband, Joe, Cameron; Brenda Shirley, Seymour; a number of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; six aunts and uncles, G.A. Dedmon and his wife, Virginia, Mansfield; Roy Dedmon and his wife, Nelda, Hartville; Bill Dedmon and his wife, Jean, Ava; Jack Dedmon and his wife, Frances, Mansfield; Gaylen Dedmon and his wife, Jackie, of Washington State, and Kay Patterson, Marshfield.
