Letter: Thank you to those who helped
To the Editor,
Our 2002 festival was a great success. Mother Nature blessed us with a beautiful fall day. The parade had great entries. We can't stop with the weather, we are also thankful that those attending enjoyed the generosity of businesses in Edwardsville, Bonner Springs and surrounding communities.
Our thanks goes out to Tom Horner of Kaw Valley Investments, Bodyworks Massage Therapy, Standard Motor Products, Sharron's Flowers, Stitches In Design, Bank Midwest, Jackson's Service Center, Harry's Deli, Holiday Sand, Miller Pharmacy, Hairtage II Salon, Edwardsville Fire Department, Gilmore and Bell, Taste of China Chinese Restaurant, Simple Simon's Pizza, YMCA, Price Chopper, Mac's Speedway Grill, Ranch West Family Bowling, TGI Friday's, Mr. Goodscents, Moon Marble, Slotcar Thunder, and Penny Barnes and June Walters for donating two beautiful afghans.
The whole day would not have happened without the assistance of the great volunteers. Students from the National Honor Society and the Girl Scouts helped the kids enjoy the moonwalk and the bungee run. The dunk tank cooled down council member Stephanie Eickhoff, and council member Tim Kelly and was enjoyed by all that had the accuracy to hit the target. Members of the Bonner Springs-Edwardsville Area Chamber of Commerce also made the long, eventful day a success.
Last but not least, I would like to thank the mayor and City Council, City Administrator Doug Spangler, Barbara Stafos, Kathy Hernandez, John Sower and Norman Maier for giving so much of themselves to make this one of the best Autumnfest festivals ever.
See you next year.
Edwardsville city clerk
