Mark’s Barber Shop relocates in Basehor
Mark Evans, owner and operator of Mark's Barber Shop, said his businesses' most recent relocation would probably be its last.
"I'm going to stay here until I retire if John let's me," said Evans referring to his new shop location at 14500 Parallel Parkway in Basehor, and his new landlord, developer and newly elected Basehor City Council member John Bonee.
Evans moved from his previous location, 15395 Briar Road, to the new shop earlier this week. He officially opened his doors for business Wednesday, April 9.
Evans, a Basehor resident, said he couldn't be more happy with his new shop location.
"I'm more accessible from (Kansas) Highway 7, more open and more oriented for customers," he said. "It's a more welcoming location."
The shop will be open Tuesday through Saturday. On Tuesdays the shop will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Haircuts cost $9 a piece.
But more than just haircuts will be offered at Evans' new location.
Cathy Conger, a Paola resident and massage therapist, will be available two days a week at the new location.
She will be at the shop Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Visits to Conger need to be made by appointment through either Evans at (913) 593-6139 or Conger at (913) 557-5041.
