Obit: Delmer Jock

Funeral services for Delmer "Hooter" Jock, 75, Edwardsville, were Dec. 20 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with the burial in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Jock died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at his home.

He was born to Ernest and Eva Gay Jock on March 13, 1928, in Trinidad, Texas. He was a member of the VFW and was a retiree from Owens-Corning Fiberglass in Kansas City, Kan. He was the driver of the "Hooterville Express" and the unofficial mayor of Edwardsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, (his twin) Elmer, Ernest "Bud" and Edward E. Jock.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jo Jock, of the home; two daughters, Vickie, Olathe, and Lana Joy Jock, Bonner Springs; two step-daughters, Pamela Sue Stark, Kansas City, Kan., and Patricia Luikart of western Shawnee; three brothers, Riley Jock, Lafayette, La., Vernon Jock, Malakoff, Texas, and Sammy Ray Jock, Mabank, Texas; six sisters, Ester Ruth Abbe, Trinidad, Texas; Betty Lou Stower, Red Bluff, Calif.; Alice Dean Metcalf, Beckville, Texas; Sandra Kay Wenzer, Hempsted, Texas; Fayrene Mitchum, Waller, Texas; and Kathy Prnka, Trinidad, Texas; and an aunt, Macie Swink, Jacksonville, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jerry Wayne Brown Jr., Kenneth Del Brown, Brian Lee Jock, Dustin Noland Fust, Tyler Allen Jock, Justin Tavers Luikart, Laura Marie Luikart, Bradley William Byron Luikart and Michael William Stark; and two great-grandchildren, Makayla Leigh Brown and Dominic Allen Jacobs.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs.
