Commission approves Basehor annex
The Leavenworth County Commission approved a proposal Monday, Jan. 6 that would allow the city of Basehor to annex a multi-family housing development in the northeast section of the city.
Townhomes of Falcon Lakes resides on 11 acres just west of the Falcon Lakes development on Hollingsworth Road, near Kansas Highway 7.
Shawnee developers Tom and Ben Zarda are developing the subdivision.
The Basehor City Council must now approve the annexation, which could take place at its January meeting. Final development plans must also be approved, city officials said.
The development will feature 18 multi-family buildings with four to five housing units per building. All totaled, Townhomes of Falcon Lakes will entail 55 housing units.
Construction of the development is scheduled to begin in coming weeks.
In addition to their Leavenworth County development, the Zarda brothers are also the principal developers of Shawnee Crossings, a commercial and retail center on Shawnee Mission Parkway, just east of K-7.
