Leavenworth County plans August siren test

July 31, 2003

The Leavenworth County Emergency Management will test the outdoor warning sirens at approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6.

The test will be a steady tone, which is the alert warning, then silence followed by a wavering tone, which is the attack warning. The cable television override system and all warning devices for schools and institutions will be tested during that time.

Anyone who observes a siren failing to work properly should call the emergency management office at 684-0455 or a local law enforcement agency.

In case of inclement weather, the test will be postponed until the next clear day.
