Basehor Suds breaks ground
Mario Moore, Piper, isn't a magnate, mogul or boss. He's just a normal, everyday guy hoping to launch a successful business in Basehor.
Moore, and his wife, Crystal, are launching a new business in the city, Basehor Suds, a car wash located at the west end of the Basehor Town Square, 155th Street and Kansas Highway 24/40.
"I'm not a tycoon or anything," Moore said, "I go to work every day like everybody else."
The Moores broke ground on their new, one-acre site Monday, May 12.
Local builder Dan Foy will construct the five-bay car wash, including an oversized bay for large trucks or farm equipment.
Construction of the car wash should take approximately 10 weeks, Foy said.
The car wash will feature "some of the newest technology in the area," and will include items such as shampoo and fragrance machines, Moore said.
Car washes will cost $1.25.
Crystal Moore will run the day-to-day operations of the car wash, the couple said.
They also wished to thank the community for supporting the new business.
"It's a wonderful community and we've had a lot of support," Mario said. "If it wasn't for the support of the community I don't think we could have succeeded here."
The car wash will host a grand opening and other events after construction is completed, the Moores said.
