Advisory Council set for third meeting
The continuing discussions between the public and Basehor-Linwood School District administrators will continue next week during the third meeting of the school district advisory council.
The advisory council, which met in September and October, will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24 inside the multi-purpose room at Glenwood Ridge Elementary School.
The advisory council consists of local school district residents, government leaders and business owners.
Next week's meeting will begin with a question and answer session followed by a review of small group sessions from previous meetings.
During meetings, the advisory council breaks into smaller groups, which discuss issues the school district should address. Those small groups have each put together a list for further review and discussion.
Following the review Monday night, the advisory council will begin to identify trends or issues the group feels are important to the school district.
Next week's meeting will be the last advisory council meeting before the winter break. In other news:
- Officials from the Kansas Association of School Boards will host training for site councils from each school in the district from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at Basehor-Linwood High School.
- The Basehor-Linwood School Board will host a workshop, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 at the school district office.
