Book sale helps library add to volunteers

October 9, 2003

Last week, the Basehor Community Library sponsored a book sale, which generated more than just the $900 in sales.

Twelve people also signed up to join the Friends of the Basehor Community Library, a volunteer organization designed to help the library.

"The book sale was a success," said Lila White, treasurer, Friends of the Basehor Community Library.

The book sale took place over a four day period, from Thursday to Sunday of last week. It took place inside the community room at the Pebblebrooke Retirement Community, 15541 Willow Drive in Basehor.

Friends of the Library members were quite impressed with the facility and were grateful to Pebblebrooke owners John and Debbie Bonee for hosting the sale.

"Everybody loved the quarters and it's a beautiful facility and we're all very thankful they opened it up to use," White said.
