New Basehor car wash matches school colors
Free car washes were the order of the day Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the new Basehor Suds car wash.
"We're going to wash some cars for free to get some of the bugs out," said Mario Moore, owner of Basehor Suds. "We're trying to make sure everything is up and ready."
Basehor Suds is located at 15530 State Avenue, or just west of the Basehor Town Square, State Avenue and 155th Street.
The five-bay facility sits on 1.8 acres and encompasses approximately 4,000 square feet.
The car wash includes an automatic wash bay, a truck bay and three hand wash bays, Moore said.
It also features some of the latest trends in car wash technology, including a carpet shampoo machine, a triple foam wash and a fragrance machine, the owner said.
Moore said the facility was painted green and gold to match the colors of Basehor-Linwood High School, a sign that the car wash caters to local business.
"We thought that would be a nice touch and would give it a community feel," Moore said.
The car wash is planning a grand opening, yet unscheduled, sometime in the near future.
Although free washes are no longer being given at Basehor Suds, discount prices will be available throughout October. Moore said basic washes will cost $1 and premium washes, normally priced at $7, will cost $5.
