Used car lot action tabled
The Basehor Planning Commission tabled action Tuesday night on a proposed used car lot slated to be located inside the Basehor Town Square.
Breuer Properties LLC is applying for a special-use permit for a 30- to 35-vehicle used car lot at 15520 State Avenue, the former temporary site of Community National Bank. Tuesday night the Planning Commission was scheduled to host a public hearing on the proposal.
Angela Solberg, assistant city planner, said Planning Commission members tabled the vote until next month so more information could be submitted on the business's site plan.
"The Planning Commission wants to see how the cars are going to fit on that lot," Solberg said. The board also requested information on signage and the business's hours of operation, she added.
The building on the proposed site is a mobile unit originally approved by city officials as a temporary building for Community National Bank. The bank later moved south of U.S. Highway 24/40, to a location at the corner of the highway and 158th Street.
Basehor city officials approved allowing the mobile unit to remain as a permanent building after the bank announced plans to relocate.
In other action, the Planning Commission:
- Approved keeping the same membership structure. John Matthews and George Smith will remain as chairman and vice-chairman of the Planning Commission.
- Scheduled an Aug. 17 meeting to discuss revising zoning ordinances and permit uses for zoning classifications.
