Local venues hold New Year’s events

Special events are planned in the area this New Year's Eve to help usher in 2005.

In Lansing, Apostolic Deliverance Tabernacle, 116 E. Kay St., will have a 9:30 p.m. special service Friday followed by breakfast at 12:30 a.m.

At Lounge Downunder, 800 N. Main St., there will be no cover charge for a get-together featuring champagne, hats and horns.

Skyway Lanes bowling alley, 5037 S. Fourth St. in Leavenworth, will have two events. Early in the evening will be a family party, which includes cosmic bowling and all you can eat and drink. Admission is $10 per person.

Later, the alley will have an adult party with cosmic color pin bowling and unlimited food and beverages for $20 per person.

High Noon Saloon and Brewery, 206 Choctaw St. in Leavenworth, will stage a mystery theater presentation at 6:30 p.m. Call 682-4876 for reservations. Afterward, there will be a disc jockey, champagne and party favors. There is no cover charge.

Helen's Hilltop, 19611 McLouth Road in Tonganoxie, and Tom's Country Stampede in Leavenworth, 745 Cherokee St., will have champagne, party favors and karaoke after 9 p.m. There is no cover.
