Basehor agres on new hire
The Basehor City Council has picked a candidate members would like to hire as the city's first full-time city administrator.
During a meeting Wednesday, Feb. 4, City Council members discussed the two remaining candidates for the position and decided on a compensation package to offer one of them.
The overture to the candidate is expected to come this week and city officials hope to receive a response by next week.
Details of the compensation package weren't available as of press time, however, city officials said it falls well within the confines of the $65,000 set aside for the salary in the 2004 budget.
The two remaining candidates currently are employed in other municipalities and were selected from among a handful of other applicants by the League of Kansas Municipalities.
Both candidates visited the city last week, visited with department heads, toured the city and spoke at length with the City Council.
