BLHS Project Graduation plans Family Bingo Night
The Basehor-Linwood High School Project Graduation Committee plans its final fund-raiser this weekend.
The committee will hold a special Family Bingo Night Saturday at Basehor-Linwood High School. Bingo starts at 7 p.m., but families are encouraged to come early for dinner, said Denise Porter, fund-raising co-chair. Taco salads, hot dogs and cookies will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The Bingo night will be the committee's last fund-raiser before graduation in May. The committee began raising funds last July 4 and continued through the year, with booths at community events and at the Kansas Speedway.
"This is the last one," Porter said. "Basically, we're almost done."
The Saturday Bingo event costs $10 per player, or $10 per card. Twenty games are planned, Porter said.
The booty will include four grand prizes each valued at more than $100: a four-player pass to Falcon Lakes, donated by the club; two four-hour house cleanings from Maac Cleaning Specialist; and a $100 gift certificate.
Although the committee plans no more special events, members haven't quit raising money. Members also are selling Krispy Kreme partnership cards and Price Chopper coupon books, Porter said.
Persons with questions may contact Porter at 724-1208.
transportation to Bingo
The Basehor YouthPride organization is sponsoring a program to provide transportation to senior citizens who want to play Bingo Saturday night at Basehor-Linwood High School.
YouthPride, a civic-minded organization, will provide transportation to and from the high school for senior citizens requesting a ride. To make reservations, contact YouthPride president Nicole Swenson at (913) 724-2778.
The transportation program is another step in providing community service to Basehor and its residents, YouthPride representatives said.
