Obit: Norman B. Gould

Norman B. Gould, 87, Merriam, died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee; burial in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Tuesday, May 18, at the Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Merriam Christian Church, 9401 Johnson Dr., Merriam KS 66203.

Mr. Gould was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Augusta, Maine, to George H. and Inez (Rand) Gould. He married Dorothy L. Moore on March 30, 1943, at Camp Crowder, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Landmark Home Furnishing in 1977. He was a member of the Merriam Christian Church. He was active in the Merriam Optimist Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roscoe Gould and George Gould. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. Gould, of the home; two sons, Larry J. (Brenda) Gould, Hermitage, Mo.; and Roger E. (Karen) Gould, The Woodlands, Texas; a daughter, Linda I. (Ron) Salkil, Flemington, Mo; a brother, Merlton R. Gould, Auburn, Maine; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Arrangements by the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, (913) 631-5566.
