LHS soccer players receive honors

Lansing High senior forward Chris Hancock highlighted a list of six LHS soccer players who received recognition at the league, region and state level.

Hancock was an all-Kaw Valley League honorable mention selection, as well as all-region and second-team All-State. He scored six goals this season for the Lions.

In addition, senior defender Zach Burton was named honorable mention all-KVL and honorable mention all-region.

Junior defender Theo Daniels was named to the all-KVL second team, and sophomore forward Andy Dick, sophomore goalkeeper Alex Burton and junior midfielder Mike Bayless were honorable mention all-KVL selections.

Lansing lacrosse will meet Monday

The Lansing Lacrosse Club will be having its first meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Staff Training Center at USP Leavenworth. This is the building by the picnic grounds on the west side of Santa Fe.

Students of any athletic ability from ages 13-18 are welcome to participate. Both parents and students are encouraged to attend.

Middle school girls continue to win

The eighth-grade girls' A team rolled to 7-0 on the season after picking up wins against Clark, Perry and Piper in the past week. Brittney Lang scored 39 points during the three victories, while Natalie Loreti added 34 points.

In seventh-grade A action, the Lions improved to 7-0 by beating Piper and Perry. Rachel Milnark scored 21 points in the two wins.
