Holiday to delay trash pickup

Trash pickup in Lansing will be delayed a day because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Lansing's waste disposal contractor, Deffenbaugh Disposal Service, will not pick up trash Thursday.

When regular trash pickups are on an observed holiday, pickup will be made the following day. Friday pickups will be on Saturday.

Homeowner asks for zoning variance

A Lansing homeowner is taking his request for a zoning variance to the Lansing Board of Zoning Appeals.

Donald E. Miller, owner of the property at 110 E. Kay St., wants to build a garage/storage building five feet off his west property line. City zoning ordinances require a 10-foot setback for such buildings.

The Lansing Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at City Hall, 800 First Terrace.
