JV baseball splits with Mill Valley
The Lansing Lions JV baseball team split a doubleheader with Mill Valley on Thursday at LHS field.
The Lions won the first game of the twinbill 7-4 behind the combined three-hit pitching of freshman Kyle Hutchison and sophomore Matt McMillen. Hutchinson went five innings allowing two hits and striking out three. McMillen finished the remaining two innings allowing only one hit. The Lions had a five-run rally in the sixth inning with key hits by juniors Chris Clemmons and Jordan Pratt as well as freshmen Kris Hernandez, John Stratton, and Elias Moya.
Mill Valley started the second game with much more lively bats and jumped to an early lead. The Lions never quite recovered and lost 15-4.
The Lions JV (3-1) will be at home again on Monday facing Turner at 4:00 pm and will play Bonner Springs at 4:00 pm on Thursday at home
