JV golf wins Immaculata tournament
Haugland, Kozak, Price lead the way
Lansing High's junior varsity golf team ran away with the team title at the Fifth Annual Immaculata JV Golf Tournament on Tuesday at The Oaks.
The Lions finished with a team score of 166, well ahead of second-place Horton, which had a 185. Atchison was third in the eight-team field with a 187.
Sophomore Ted Haugland led the way with a nine-hole score of 40, good for second place. Max Kozak also shot a 40 and placed third. Hank Price was fifth overall with a 42. Kyle Hay (44) and Zach Robinson (48) rounded out the Lansing finishers.
Jon Raw of Basehor-Linwood was the individual champion with a 38.
The JV golf squad next competes at 8 a.m. on May 4 at Oskaloosa. The LHS varsity squad has a meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Osawatomie Invitational.
