Ralph E. Willcott Sr.

Services for Ralph E. Willcott Sr., 74, Lansing, were Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Lansing. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Willcott died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Saint John Hospital, Leavenworth.

He was born Oct. 17, 1930, in Leavenworth, the son of Howard J. Willcott Sr., and Katherine Schanze Willcott.

He grew up in the family home above the Willcott Drug Store and Pharmacy at Seventh and Kickapoo streets in Leavenworth.

On April 19, 1952, he married Mary Ann Duffin. She died April 17, 1984. On Aug. 31, 1991, he married Erma Moore. She died Sept. 25, 2000.

Mr. Willcott served in the U.S. Army for a short time as a military policeman. He was a businessman in the Leavenworth area for many years.

He sold fireworks, Christmas trees and retired from insurance sales in 1984.

He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Lansing, a lifetime member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Fraternal Order of Eagles, and he served as president of the Immaculata Booster Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Beall and Denise Willcott; three sons Dan, Robert, Ralph E. II; two stepsons, Mark Moore and Bruce Moore; six grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to St. Francis de Sales Building Fund, Immaculata High School Booster Club or Kansas City Hospice, sent in care of Davis Funeral Home, 531 Shawnee, Leavenworth 66048.
