Basehor Car Show Oct. 16
Area residents will be hard pressed to find a cheaper, more fun activity for their families than the upcoming Basehor Car Show.
An organizing committee for Basehor-Linwood High School's 2006 Project Grad announced this week that the 8th Annual Basehor Car Show will take place Oct. 16 at the high school.
Admission to the event is $1 per carload of people.
Project Grad is a drug and alcohol free post-graduation party for high school seniors; revenue from the car show is the primary source of funding for the event.
Last year, more than 300 cars, trucks and motorcycles entered the event. It drew an estimated 1,000 visitors.
Car show organizers said they hoped for an even higher turnout this year.
The cost for entering a vehicle into the car show is $12 before Oct. 1 and $15 after that deadline. On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. and awards will be presented to the winners at approximately 4 p.m.
Activities such as a motor blow and car bash are planned throughout the day.
Organizers are seeking sponsors. Donations may range anywhere from $25 to $250.
The organizing committee has established a Web site, www.basehorcarshow.com with complete details of the event. Flyers, entry forms and sponsorship forms are available on the Web site.
