Council discusses development limit

February 3, 2005

A proposed ordinance that would restrict where development can take place near streams received a positive reaction from Lansing City Council members.

The council met in a study session with Lansing Planning Commission members on Thursday to discuss the proposed "stream buffer ordinance."

Council member Robert Ulin called such land-planning tools "a huge quality of life issue."

No action was taken at the study session.
