USM to open art exhibit

Artist Marko Marian will open his exhibit at the University of Saint Mary with a lecture at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Xavier Studios on the first floor of Xavier Hall.

A reception for the opening of the exhibit "Recent Transcriptions of Commonplace Realities" will follow in the Goppert Gallery.

Marian is an art instructor at Coastal Carolina Community College. His art focus is recontextualization and creating "metarealities" using various media.

The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday through March 7 in Goppert Gallery. The lecture, gallery opening and exhibit are free.
