Mass of Christian Burial for John Edward Sanders, 75, Potter, was held Tuesday, Feb. 15, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Easton. Burial was in Corpus Christi Church Cemetery at Mooney Creek.
Mr. Sanders died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at his home.
Mr. Sanders was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Frankfort, the son of Laymon and Arlene (Troxell) Sanders. He attended schools in Potter and was a graduate of Potter High School.
Mr. Sanders farmed his entire life. He also engaged in woodworking. It was from his shop that he made and repaired furniture for his family, friends and neighbors. Mr. Sanders and his wife were involved in raising and selling various breeds of dogs for more than 20 years.
Mr. Sanders served on the Potter School Board and drove a bus for the school. He was a charter member of Rural Water District No. 6 and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Easton.
He married Frances Ernzen on June 2, 1948, at Mooney Creek. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Karen Sanders, Houston; three sons, Alan, Harbor City, Calif.; Gary, Leavenworth, and Brian, Lansing; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
