Lansing Historical Society is in the process of planning for a new building.
"We're working on getting information together and writing a grant," Lockwood said. The society is working with Lansing City employee Shanae Randolph to write the grant. The new building would be built behind the current museum to hold prison memorabilia and exhibits. The grant application is due at the end of September 2005. If the group receives the grant, it will be able to start using the money in January 2006.
