In the second week of the 2005 Legislature, only one major issue came to a vote: Senate Bill 23, which repeals a 7-month-old law that had changed the way the state collects sales taxes on used vehicles. It also provides $5 million in refunds to Kansans who have bought used cars since the old law went into effect.
The Senate approved the bill 40-0, and it now goes to the House for consideration.
Here's how area senators voted:
Sen. Mark Gilstrap, D-Kansas City, Yes
Sen. Roger Pine, R-Lawrence, Yes.
