Travelers using Kansas Highway 5 in Lansing will face a detour beginning Monday, weather permitting.

The Kansas Department of Transportation said in a news release K-5 would be closed near the Lansing Correctional Facility while construction crews work on a $600,000 bridge project.

Traffic will be detoured off K-5 to East Mary Street and Kansas Highway 7.

King Construction Co. is the contractor, and work is expected to be completed in mid-November.
