Jocelyn Runnebaum

Mass of the Resurrection for Jocelyn June Runnebaum, 54, Lansing, was at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 900 Ida St. Burial followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Runnebaum died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at her home.

She was born Oct. 23, 1950, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Norman and Alice (Wahaus) Highfill.

A lifelong resident of Leavenworth County, she worked a couple of years for the Lansing school district and several years for Hallmark Cards. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

She married V. Leo Runnebaum on May 24, 1975, in Leavenworth. He survives at the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Sara Lange, Lansing, and Amy Slaughter, Leavenworth: a stepson, Michael Runnebaum, Joplin, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Shockley, Pineville, Mo.; two grandchildren; five-step grandchildren; three brothers, Terry Highfill, Jon Highfill and Randy Highfill, all of Leavenworth; and a sister, Shelley Whalen, Middletown, Del.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the St. Francis de Sales Building Fund, sent in care of R.L. Leintz Funeral Home, 4701 10th Ave., Leavenworth.
