Lansing DAZE comes to close
The 2005 edition of Lansing DAZE is history - and a wet one at that.
The city experienced rain on each of the four days of the annual summer festival. On Saturday, the busiest and longest day of the festival, a torrential downpour marred the early morning events, including a parade, barbecue contest, automobile show and the opening of booths and food stands.
Nevertheless, festival organizers were pleased with this year's Lansing DAZE.
"The weather, of course, was not cooperative with us for Saturday or yesterday," said Shanae Randolph, the city's director of economic development/Convention and Visitors Bureau. "But all in all we were pleased with the weekend."
