Wreck sends two to hospital
Two men were taken to University of Kansas Hospital after a two-vehicle accident Sunday on Kansas Highway 5 east of Lansing, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.
The patrol said the accident occurred at 5:25 p.m. Sunday on Wolcott Road, just east of the old Women's Correctional Facility.
According to patrol reports, a 2005 Mustang driven by John N. Ware, 29, Lawson, Mo., was northbound on Wolcott when it tried to pass a 2000 Integra driven by Trevor M. Macken, 19, Gladstone, Mo.
The patrol said the Mustang struck the Integra, then rolled and came to rest in a ditch.
Ware and a passenger, Travis Clark, 17, address unknown, were taken to KU Hospital, Kansas City, Kan., for treatment. Ware was listed in fair condition on Monday, a hospital spokesman said. The spokesman said he had no information on Clark.
