Members of the 2005 Leavenworth County Veterans Day Parade received a donation of $1,000 from Wal-Mart Tuesday. Jodi Morris-Neville, a Wal-Mart assistant manager, presented a check for $2,000 to Mike Howell, senior vice commander for Lansing VFW on Tuesday. "Wal-Mart felt giving a donation was good for the community," Morris-Neville said. She said groups must apply for donations. Applications can be found online, she said. Howell said the money would be added to funds that are used to help veterans.
