Math Day beckons 14 LHS students
Topeka Fourteen students representing Lansing High School are scheduled to participate in the annual Math Day competition Nov. 8 at Washburn University. Students from 20 schools will compete.
Competing from Lansing High School will be seniors Katie Adams, Stephen Fischer, Brent Huffman, Shawn Jung, Mitch Loftus and Brian Smith and juniors Elizabeth Cristiano, Matt Fischer, Abby Hauver, Adam New, Mike Nielsen, Justine Patton, Derek Pickett and Holly Schwind.
Jean Volk is the faculty sponsor.
Awards will be determined on the basis of scores earned in a competitive examination. Honors will be given to the top-scoring three senior and junior students. The three highest scores from each school will be compiled as a team score.
