Virgil “Frank” Goodin
Services for Virgil "Frank" Goodin, 82, Bonner Springs, were Oct. 27 at the Bonner Springs Community of Christ. Burial was in in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Mr. Goodin died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born May 19, 1923, in Plattsburg, Mo.
Mr. Goodin was a milkman for 35 years, mostly with Meyer Dairy in Basehor. Later he worked for Root Dental Lab, retiring in 1993. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served in the South Pacific during World War II and continued serving through the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 111 in Kansas City, Kan., and was an elder in the Community of Christ. After retirement he volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Alice Peacher Goodin, of the home; five children, Betty Davies, Independence, Mo.; Lilly Dorsey, Lansing; Fran Micek, Piper; C.R., Bonner Springs; and Virgil II, Booneville, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Pettyjohn, Warsaw, Mo.; and Betty Melotte, Bonner Springs; 13 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Boy Scouts of America or the Kansas City Hospice in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs 66012.
