Thelma E. Goodin Wagle
Leavenworth Services for Thelma E. Goodin Wagle, 93, Leavenworth, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Barnett-Larkin-Brown Funeral Home, Leavenworth.
Mrs. Wagle died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Country Care on Broadway nursing home.
She was born Dec. 27, 1911, in Platte City, Mo., the daughter of James Russell and Goldie Wallingford Goodin.
Mrs. Wagle worked for many years in local department stories, including United Department Store in downtown Leavenworth. She helped open the Wal-Mart store in Leavenworth, serving as a department manager.
She was a member of First Christian Church.
She married J. Perry Wagle on July 5, 1930, in Platte City. He died March 30, 1985.
Mrs. Wagle and her husband loved to travel in their fifth-wheel motor home, and prior to her husband's death they spent many winters in Arizona.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine "Katie" Barnes Scott, Leavenworth; a brother, Carl Goodin, Platte City; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Barnett-Larkin-Brown Funeral Home, 707 S. Sixth St., Leavenworth.
The family suggests memorials to Leavenworth Hospice, First Christian Church or Country Care on Broadway, sent in care of Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapels, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth 66048, which is in charge of arrangements.
