Winter program promotes reading at library
Lansing Community Library's Winter Reading Program is in full swing now through January.
The program encourages participants to read books from the library from Nov. 16 to Jan. 31.
After registering, participants will be given a record sheet on which they can record all of the titles and total number of pages read in the program. The sheets are to be turned in at the end of the program for tallying.
Prizes will be awarded at Family Night, Wednesday, Feb. 15, to participants in five categories: pre-readers (children read to by parents); readers (independent readers); advanced readers (those reading chapter books); young adult (grades 6-12); and adult.
Registration is under way at the library, 108 S. Second St., in Lansing Activity Center.
