LHS Band enters marching festival
Lansing High School Band will participate in the 16th annual Central States Marching Festival on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Kansas State University.
The LHS Band joins more than 30 Kansas high school marching bands and one high school band from Nebraska that will come to K-State to perform, receive ratings, attend clinics and watch the K-State Marching Band.
Each band will perform before a panel of judges, which assigns ratings based on characteristics like showmanship, coordination and musicianship. The bands also will have mini-clinics based on videos of their field performances. Panel members will point out strengths and offer suggestions for improvement.
Performances will be at KSU Stadium. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for students, and children 12 and under get in free. LHS is scheduled to perform at 1:45 p.m.; closing ceremonies are set for 8 p.m.
