Thomas A. Baldwin

Services for Thomas A. Baldwin, 85, Lansing, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Barnett-Larkin-Brown Funeral Home, Leavenworth. Burial will be at Rock Creek Cemetery in Wellsville.

Mr. Baldwin died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.

He was born March 14, 1920, in Edgerton, the son of Thomas B. and Louise Ann (Deck) Baldwin.

Mr. Baldwin was a U.S. Army combat veteran of World War II. After the war, he worked for more than 40 years as a trackman for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of AARP and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He married Eileen May Gilmore in 1963 in Leavenworth. She died Aug. 7, 2000.

Survivors include a son, Frank Borden, Lansing; a daughter, Darlene Emge, Joplin, Mo.; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the Leavenworth VFW, sent in car of the funeral home, 707 S. Sixth St., Leavenworth 66048.
